Willoughby & Eastlake
are mid-sized communities located in Lake County just 20 miles northeast of Cleveland. Willoughby encompasses 10 square miles of lush countryside. The city is home to more than 20,000 residents who relish in the city?s quiet neighborhoods, strong sense of community, low crime rate, affordable housing, fine school system and great location. Willoughby Municipal Park features sandy beaches, 18 public tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor track, a modern gym and public golf courses. Its historic downtown streets feature a distinct array of shops and restaurants. Eastlake is located north of Willoughby on the shores of Lake Erie and is home to some 23,000 residents. Homes in the area range from converted cottages in the harbor area and near lake to newer colonials and split-levels. The community is best known for the Chagrin River that runs along the town?s eastern border and empties into Lake Erie at Chagrin Harbor. The harbor features five marinas and yacht clubs as well as recreation areas and marine facilities. The Lake County Metropolitan Park provides residents with access to an outdoor pool, outdoor skating pond and senior recreation center. A new minor league baseball stadium is in the works.
The real estate market is a blend of stately older homes and newer developments with an array of styles and prices. Condominiums and townhouses start at about $45,000 and reach up to $200,000 and more. Single-family homes begin at around $75,000 and range up to $1.85 million and more for grand colonial estates with views of the lake and river.
